Privacy Policy

Overview

This Privacy Policy explains what we collect when you use Cybersocial (the “Services”), how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. The short version: your conversations exist so that your companion can know you, we do not sell them, and we do not use them to advertise to you. Deleting your account deletes them.

What we collect

We collect three kinds of information:

  • Account information: your email address, a display name, your date of birth or a confirmation that you are over 18, and your login credentials.
  • Conversations and companion data: the messages, voice, and images you exchange with your companion, and the things the Services derive from them so your companion has continuity, such as what they remember about you, their mood, and their habits.
  • Usage and device data: IP address, device and browser type, app version, pages and features used, and cookies or similar technologies that keep you signed in and help us understand how the Services are used.

Payments are handled by our payment processors and the app stores. We receive confirmation of your subscription and limited billing details, such as card type and the last four digits, but we never see or store your full card number.

How we use your information

We use your information:

  • to run the Services: carrying your conversations, building and holding what your companion remembers, and keeping your history available to you;
  • to keep the Services safe: preventing fraud and abuse, enforcing our Terms of Service, and protecting users;
  • to improve the Services, using aggregated or de-identified information wherever possible;
  • to communicate with you about your account, and, if you opt in, about product news, which you can opt out of at any time;
  • to comply with the law.

Your conversations

What you say to your companion is intimate by design, and we treat it that way. Your conversations are encrypted in transit and at rest. Access inside the company is restricted, and no one reads your conversations in the ordinary course of business: automated systems process them so your companion can respond and remember.

To generate replies, messages are processed by the AI model providers we work with, under contracts that restrict what they can do: they may process conversation content only to provide the service to us, and may not use it to train their models or retain it beyond transient processing.

We do not sell your conversations, we do not share them with advertisers, and we do not use their content to target advertising.

When we share information

We share personal information only:

  • with service providers that help us run the Services, such as hosting, AI model providers, payment processing, analytics, and customer support, under contracts that limit their use of it to providing the service to us;
  • when the law requires it, such as responding to valid legal process, or where necessary to prevent serious harm to someone;
  • if we go through a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, in which case this policy continues to apply to your information;
  • in aggregated or de-identified form that cannot reasonably identify you.

We do not sell or rent personal information, and we have not done so.

Security

We protect your information with encryption in transit and at rest, restricted access controls, and monitoring. No system is perfectly secure, so we cannot promise absolute security; we work to keep the risk low and to respond quickly if something goes wrong. You can help by using a strong, unique password.

Retention and deletion

We keep your information while your account is active. Conversations, and everything your companion remembers, stay until you delete a companion or your account. When you delete your account, your conversations and companion data are permanently removed from our systems within 30 days, allowing for backup cycles. Limited records, such as billing history we must keep for tax and accounting, are retained for as long as the law requires.

Your rights and choices

You can access and update your account information in settings, export a copy of your data, delete individual companions or your entire account, and opt out of marketing email using the unsubscribe link in any message.

Depending on where you live, including the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, and California, you may have legal rights to access, correct, delete, or receive a portable copy of your personal information, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to complain to your data protection authority. We honor these requests wherever you are: contact us at hello@cybersocial.ai and we will respond within the time the law requires. We will never discriminate against you for exercising your rights.

Children

The Services are for adults. We do not allow anyone under 18 to use them, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If we learn that we have, we delete the account and its data. If you believe a minor is using the Services, tell us at hello@cybersocial.ai.

International transfers

Your information may be processed in countries other than your own. Where we transfer information out of the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the Services evolve. If a change is material, we will tell you before it takes effect, by posting on this site or contacting you. The date at the top shows when this policy last changed.
